The Winston Salem Shag Club meets every Friday night at the Quality Inn Suites Lounge (formerly Holiday Inn) in Winston Salem, N. C., which is directly across the street from the Hanes Mall. There is plenty of parking available. Various beach music DJ’s spins the tunes for approximately 100 shag dancers every Friday night and usually starts before 9 pm. A cover charge of $3.00 helps cover the cost of providing the top quality music. The Quality Inn offers a various selection from their menu consisting of steaks, seafood, pasta, wings, and sandwiches at very reasonable prices. The restaurant closes at 10 pm so be sure to order your food early. Plenty of seating is available. Smoking is permitted only in the bar area prior to 10 pm (while the restaurant is open) but is allowed throughout the club after 10 pm. The bartenders, staff and club members are always friendly and make you feel welcomed while enjoying their 10’ x 20’ wooden dance floor.

The Winston Salem Shag Club offers shag dance lessons at Quality Inn & Suites - Mondays (Jessica Shields - 336-794-7933); Tuesdays (Vickie Chambers - 336-989-0156.   You have to option to take group classes or set-up private lessons if that is more convenient for you.
