Welcome to The Sumter Shag Club. Founded in 1985, The Sumter Shag club has a membership of 110 fun-loving shaggers who would like to welcome you to join or visit their club. The Sumter Shag Club is a proud supporter of many community events and  host multiple parties each year for club members and guests.

Step into Legacies Restaurant & Bar on Tuesday nights and you will be met by the sound of the incomparable Brett Bishop playing the best shag tunes around and the friendly members of the Sumter Shag Club. Every Tuesday night the tables are cleared off one end of the elevated dining area to expose a 26’ x 20’ wooden dance floor area just in front of the DJ booth. You can choose from a full menu while you sit at a table overlooking the dance floor. You may even get to see some of their multiple Hall of Famers out for the evening. There is no cover to come in, and there are lots of non shagging patrons enjoying the food and the music. There is plenty of parking and seating in this establishment. Smoking is allowed.  Expect around 40 dancers on the slower summer evenings and around 60-100 on the busiest nights. Line dancers are always welcome. Brett Bishop plays the music for the shaggers from 7:30-11:00 and is happy to play your requests.

The Sumter Shag Club is always looking for new members who love to move their feet and just enjoy having a great time.  If you enjoy dancing, or just the smooth sound of beach music in a comfortable social environment, the Sumter Shag Club might be for you.  Remember, If you’re not shaggin’ you’re not having fun.
