Lake Murray Beach Blast
at The Cotton House, Irmo, SC
DJ's Bob Patterson and Billy Fanning are hosting the monthly Lake Murray Beach Blast at the Cotton House on Friday June 27th. at 7 PM. This is a new concept in beach-style partying where the participants supply their own choice of beverages. The Cotton House is located at 7777 Saint Andrews Road in Irmo, between the Irmo Post Office and Lizard's Thicket. It can easily seat 100 people and has a 600 square foot wooden dance floor. There are nice tables and chairs, carpet, a food service area, and good parking facilities. To get there take Exit 102 off I-26 Lake Murray Blvd. to Irmo, then right onto St. Andrews Road after you cross the RR tracks. It's about 1/4 mile past Lizard's Thicket on the left. Look for the Cotton House sign. Food and Soft Drinks will be supplied free of charge. This is a covered dish supper by the members and the menu is below.
You will have two DJ's playing their "best stuff" plus any requests you want to hear. The party will begin at 7PM. We are pleased to announce that we will have Beginner's Shag Lessons by Ron & Rosalie Stevenson at 6:30. We can also teach the "Electric Slide" if the students request it.
The Suggested Donation this time is $10 per person. This is also a "Bring a Friend" night. If you invite a friend who has not attended before, they will be admitted for only $5. Smoking is permitted outside the Cotton House. Tables and chairs are provided for this purpose.

Downtown Greer will once again play host to tropical breezes, cool refreshments, and beach music this summer, as "Tunes on Trade" and the encore season of "Greer Idol" are planned for six consecutive Friday evenings beginning June 20.
This year's schedule includes a Fourth of July concert, expanding Independence Day entertainment options for Upstate residents. The events, sponsored by the Greer Cultural Arts Council, are open to the public at no charge and shag lessons will be offered beginning at 6 p.m. - one hour before the start of each concert.
Band breaks will offer entertainment in the form of the wildly popular "Greer Idol," which returns to showcase Upstate talent for a second season.
"You'd be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable way to kick off summer weekends than great beach music and a great Greer Station setting. The bands featured in this year's concerts are among the best in the Carolinas, and we had visitors coming to Greer last year solely for the 'Greer Idol' competition," said Tonja Harrison, Interim Supervisor for Greer Cultural Arts. "Whether visitors want to dance the night away or simply settle into a beach chair and enjoy the music, 'Tunes on Trade' will have something for everyone."
