At the “19^th hole” of the Richmond Pines Country Club, you’ll find the Sandhills Shag Club dancing to the music provided  by one of their favorite shag/ beach DJ s.  They meet here on the second Saturday of each month at 7:30pm or 8:00pm in the summer months. The country club has a great 25’ x 40’ hardwood floor for dancing. Seating is between the dance floor and the glass door lined patio that overlooks the  golf course. Nice, open, relaxed setting for socializing and dancing. Any shag club member gets in for $5 and guests for $7.  Don’t stuff yourself before you come, because the members furnish a table full of appetizers and desserts. Complimentary iced tea and coffee is available and there is a lounge with a cash bar. Shag lessons are offered during the year including a class for the Juniors, whom you will find dancing at the parties among the other  60-80 members that come for the fun.  This shag club also sponsors the annual “Boogie and Bogey in the Pines“, the last weekend in July, a party well known for the music, the golfing, the fun and the pool party.
