The Rutherford County Shag Club meets
the 1st Friday of each month at the Rutherford County Moose Lodge.
The lodge is open for dinner for guests at 6:30 with free dance lessons
offered before the party begins at 8pm. Besides great steaks, the Moose
Lodge has ample parking, a large 24’ x 34’ tile dance floor, a smoking
area and plenty of seating. Cover is free for Rutherford Co Shag club
members and $5 for guests. Beer is $1.75, mixed drinks are $3.25. The
hometown DJ, Mike McDaniel provides the music for the lessons and the
party each night.
The shag party each month usually has a theme. Even the students from the
Senior citizens shag class enjoy participating. Also included in
the fun are line dances, a 50/50 raffle and prize drawings.
Join the shaggers for a good time. As one of the members said , “We
aren’t always this wild, sometimes we’re wilder !”
