The Raleigh Shag Club located in the Capital of North Carolina, makes it’s home at TJ’s Nite Life, 4801 Leigh Rd. This is a relatively new venue with a great 1400 sq ft dance floor. The Raleigh Shag Club holds a monthly meeting on the 2^nd Sunday at TJ’s at 6:30. Before the club meets at 6:30, you can come in at 5pm for a free line dance lesson and enjoy the music until the meeting starts at 6:30, followed by the Social with free food. The Raleigh Shag Club also enjoys dancing at TJ’s on Shag Sundays and with the beach/shag bands that play on Thursday nights for Rayz Deck Party. There is no cover for meeting nights although TJ’s is a private club with membership. This large shag club of about 230 members, also sponsors other parties throughout the year such as the Cabin Fever Throwdown in February and their version of “Dancing with the Stars”. The Raleigh Shag Club is also active in the community with fundraisers for Hospice and Hodgkins Lymphoma research. You can expect a good crowd, fun and plenty of dances when you visit The Raleigh Shag Club.
