What at one time served as a bowling alley on Main St, Ocean Drive, now serves as a local club and bar called Pirate’s Cove. It’s weathered many a storm along the coast along with it’s counterparts. I’m sure we could hear many a story if only those walls could talk. It’a a little more dimly lit than some of the other clubs and the walk from the front door really does make you think you may be approaching a pirate’s lair. The Pirate’s Cove definitely has it’s own ambiance.

When SOS rolls around and there are thousands of shaggers searching for a slot on a dance floor, there are many shaggers that grab a chair early at Pirate’s Cove and are happy not to go elsewhere. The club has a nice size wooden dance floor near the front entrance with seating on 3 sides. Different DJs rotate playing the tunes from around noon till after midnight. When the weather is good, you can step outside and walk up the stairs to the roof top ocean view lounge that has a small wooden dance floor under a covered patio area. Some shag clubs even choose to have their party here above the hustle and bustle with a breeze that you won’t find on any other dance floor.
