The Outer Banks Shag Club meets every Monday night at Kelly's Restaurant and Tavern. Open dancing starts after the lesson with DJ Jack Bohne and DJ Dave Jones rotating the duties. You can expect about 30-35 dancers on an average night. The Outer Banks Shag Club has lots of visitors in the summertime with many teachers and college students and vacationers coming out on Mondays to learn some new steps. You’ll also meet members here that are also members of River City Shag Club and some of the Virginia Beach/Newport News area shag clubs. The OBX Shag Club also sponsors several big parties a year with New Year’s Eve being promoted as a super party.
Pleasant surroundings, and the shag dancing combine together to make this an enjoyable Monday shag night.
