Travel to the coast of South Carolina where the shag dance began around Ocean Drive, and you will find the O.D. Shag Club dancing to the tunes emanating from the DJ booths in the beach clubs. Due to it’s popular location on the Grand Strand where many shaggers migrate for weekend R & R, and many retire to, this club has around 860 members. Weekly, this club has the good fortune to enjoy such clubs as Fat Harold’s, Ducks, the OD Beach Club, the OD Arcade, and the Pavilion (in the summertime). They also have the opportunity to listen to beach bands live at 2001. This club has about 9 parties each year rotating locations at Duck’s, Fat Harold’s and the OD Arcade, along with a beach party. The OD Shag Club also has a big charity event each year and has supported such charities as Junior Shag Association, Camp Kemo, Dewey Kennedy Scholarship, Hall of Fame Foundation, The Horry County Shelter Home, NMB Police Dept. Shop with a Cop, Mobile Meals North Strand, North Myrtle Beach Humane Society, Citizens Against Spousal Abuse, and Helping Hand.
This active shag club has the perfect location for beautiful scenery in the day and great shag music and dance in the evening.
