When And Where We Dance	Wednesday 7:00pm @ Rene's Supper Club

The Northern Virginia Shag Club meets regularly on Wednesday nights at Rene’s Supper Club, 3251 Old Lee Hwy, in Fairfax, VA. This club has a huge teaching team and places an emphasis on teaching shag lessons. During the summer they have a special 4 week program for juniors just before their regular lessons. They offer free beginner, novice, and intermediate lessons from 7:30- 8:15. The Northern Virginia Shag Club has 6 sets of instructors that rotate teaching the classes. Rene’s Supper Club has a 15’ x 75’ parquet dance floor with booths and tables around the floor for seating. Usually there are around 100 shaggers for a dance evening. Smoking is allowed in the supper club but the smokers use the bar area only. A menu is available for any hungry shaggers. Drink prices are $4 for mixed drinks, and $2.75 for beer during happy hour. After 8pm the prices go to $7.50 for a mixed drink and $4.50 for beer. Soft Drinks are $2.50. This is a large club with around 300 members. On a typical Wednesday night you will find all levels of dancers out on the floor enjoying the music played by the rotating list of shag DJ s. Juniors are allowed in , under supervision, and encouraged to stay and dance. Cover charge is $6. One note on directions to the club - if you are coming from I-95, make sure you go all the way around the Fairfax traffic circle to the west ( 270 degrees) onto Old Lee Hwy. Rene’s Supper Club is just down the street in the bottom of an office building next to Home Depot - but if you go east (the wrong way) onto Lee Hwy- there is also a Home Depot about 2 miles down that road.

This club has a large annual weekend event called the Capital Shag Classic the last weekend in July.

The Northern Virginia Shag Club is dedicated to teaching shag to all with easy to follow step instructions. You will find all levels of dancers, friendly and willing to dance with everyone, …. and good shag music to dance to.
