Weekly shag dancing is held weekly at the Rene's Supper Club, 3251 Old Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22030, 703-385-0077. Free shag lessons are provided at three levels (beginners to intermediate) 7:30 - 8:15 pm, open dancing 8:15 - 10:30 pm. DJs spin beach and rhythm & blues dance music. Cover charge is $8. Good things will come to those who wait, and Jim Quick and this new CD are certainly worth the wait! Jim is certainly a fan favorite in the Roanoke Valley and all points south. His music is a unique blend of soul, blues, rock and country all with that unmistakable beach music rhythm or as Jim Quick describes it, Carolina swamp music. His last CD, released under the alias band name of King Tyrone & The Graveyard Ramblers, contained the smash hit, Mamas Drinkin Liquor Again (see video below).
Its now time for Jim Quick to move to the next level on the national music scene and his latest CD, Down South (produced in Nashville by multi-Grammy award winning producer Gary Nicholson) will likely do just that.

Every Wednesday Night starting at 6:15 PM Shag Dance Lessons are given to all interested. The lessons include the basic shag steps, intermediate steps and line dances. Dance lessons are included with the cover charge. ("NO PARTNER REQUIRED") Followed by "Mix n Mingle"
