In the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains, near historic Asheville, with the winter slopes only 30 minutes away and Biltmore Estates close by, you can still hear the sounds of the coast with the Mountain Shag Club. The 140 members of the club, keep the dance floors hot, shagging to the beach/shag tunes. Sunday and Wednesdays are spent at Boscoe’s Sports Zone in Arden with rotating shag/beach DJ’s playing the tunes. On Sundays, you can also get a line dance lesson before the open dancing starts at Bosco’s. Shag lessons are also offered several days of the week by some of the best. In addition to weekly dancing, the Mountain Shag Club also sponsors regular dances at the Elks Lodge in Hendersonville. This fun, party crowd likes to travel to other shag parties too, so don’t be surprised if they show up for yours!
