Parkersburg WV sits at the hub of the Mid Ohio Valley. Here, situated between Pittsburgh, PA and Cincinnati, OH, on the bank of the Ohio River, you’ll find the Mid Ohio Valley Shaggers. This club, although only 6 years young, has a strong membership of around 50 shaggers. Bringing in members from both West Virginia and Ohio, the club meets every Thursday night from 7-9pm at the American Legion in Parkersburg to dance to the tunes of DJs Randy Kinsolving and Tim Miller. In addition to their weekly dances, the Mid Ohio Valley Shaggers participate in events with the 4 other WV shag clubs and sponsor several yearly parties including the “Shagging by the River” party that takes place at Dils River Park on the Ohio River.

This club has a great enthusiasm for the shag and learning more about the dance, but also welcomes the other local forms of dance to join in with their beach/shag music. After they throw in a few line dances, you’d almost swear you were at the beach!
