CWB NEWS!  We have some very exciting news!  A member of The CWB has just landed a great opportunity on a National level!  As most of you know, our drummer, Slammin' Sam worked with National Recording act Kenny Wayne Shepherd for 6 years before coming to beach music.
Now, another national touring opportunity has opened up for Sam!
Don't worry - SAM IS NOT LEAVING THE CWB! Sam loves The CWB and his fans here - he will be performing with both of us!  He will, however, be gone 1 or 2 gigs a few times during the year to perform on tour.
So, if you don't see Sam with us this week, DON'T worry -
Sam has to go to Nashville to rehearse for a gig with the Artist on Sunday, April 20th.
This will be their first performance, so they need some rehearsal time.
As soon as the Artist gives him permission to make the announcement, we will fill you in with the details!
Sam will definitely be with us all next week and at SOS, and all of our other gigs this month and in the future!
There are only a very few gigs he will miss with us.  Tony, our original drummer, and other great drummers in our industry , have agreed to help Sam out when he has an engagement. Sam has made sure we have a great sub so that the CWB and our fans do not miss a beat!   When Sam came to me and told me about this great opportunity a few months ago,  he assured us that he did not want to leave this area or his band. Wilmington is home to him, his mom lives here, and he loves us all.  Before accepting this great opportunity, he asked if there was anyway we could work this out, so I said - "H_ _ _ YES! "  You know, when Tony had to leave us due to his day job (we were killing him with our busy schedule - he had to be at work everyday at 6:00AM!), he told me he would not leave us until we were in good hands. Tony was true to his word!
Way to go Sam!    We love you, man!

To all my friends,

Ever since the day that I purchased Duck's, December 31, 2004, I have heard rumor after rumor about Duck's being sold, closed, leased out, going out of business and a bunch of more rumors about myself.  I had hoped that by ignoring them that everyone would realize that the person who started them would lose Credibility with the people they told these rumors to and they would stop.  Evidently, that is just not the case.  All of these rumors are not true.  I am not talking to anyone about buying Duck's or leasing Duck's to any one.  I have no intentions of selling Duck's or Duck's Too or leasing either club out to anyone.  Last October, 2007, I signed two 5 year back-to-back leases on both properties (Duck's & Duck's Too) with first rights to purchase both properties since neither owner wanted to sell at this time.  So, the next time you hear any rumors regarding Duck's or Duck's Too, or myself, please feel free to contact me and I will be more then happy to tell you the truth so that we can end all of these stupid rumors and shut up the person who continues to start them.  It is so childish, so stupid and so immature for people to sit around and start all of these rumors.  I can be reached at 843=249-3858 (Duck's).  Just leave a message if I don't answer, I will get back to you as quickly as possible.  Most of all, thank you for your friendship and your continued patronage of Duck's and Duck's Too.  We plan to be there for you for many years to come.  Warmest Regards Always, David Shaw, Duck's & Duck's Too  P.S.  Please feel free to forward this message on to all of your friends to help put an end to all of these stupid rumors.

Hi Family and Shag Friends!
What an AMAZING experience we all had in connection with Brennar and Autumn's So You Think You Can Dance audition last week-end in Charleston, SC.  Their ultimate goal was to introduce SHAG to the show.  Brennar and Autumn were interviewed numerous times and made it as far as they could make it in Charleston...Nigel was "Mesmorized by their dancing!"  Though they didn't make it past Charleston, to be sure some footage will be used for the show...mission accomplished!  We aren't sure when or how much.  Below you will find a web gallery of pictures for you to enjoy!

Thanks for your love, support, thoughts and prayers.

Many concerned fans have asked us about the upcoming changes in personnel with The Craig Woolard Band. There have been a lot of rumors out there that aren't true. By request from the band members to set the record straight, I agreed to post it here. JK, (guitar) and Terry, (Keys) will be leaving this February to join their long-time friend, Mark, to start their own band. The three of them were in a band together for many years before The Craig Woolard Band. Although we will definitely miss them, we wish them only the best. The entire band respects and supports their decision, and we are happy for this opportunity for them. I am sure they will do well. I thank JK from the bottom of my heart, for all the support from him and his family. He was there with me when the band started 4 years ago. After my departure from my former band, I was in limbo for a while, not sure what direction I would go in or wanted to go. Many people from our industry were there for me. I didn't know him well, except on a professional level. But he and his wife opened up their hearts and home to us. Carly fell in love with his kids, Alex and Logan, and I am sure they will remain close friends. I sure do hope so. Being on our annual CWB Cruise last week, knowing it was her last time with Alex and Logan, was VERY hard and sad for Carly. We will miss them all.   Terry joined us from the Wilmington band as well shortly after THE CWB started. I admire him both as a player and a singer. I thank him also, for being with me from the beginning. He is a talented player with very good musical ideas, and has contributed much to our band. I know he will be a great asset to the new band.   The way I look at it, we were all there for each other for a certain reason. Both of these guys had recently departed their band, and God felt it was right to put us together. For whatever reason, He feels it is the right time now for us all to grow. The prayer that was sent up has been answered, and now it is time to move on. JK and Terry are ready to spread their wings. I thank them for their time with me. I will miss them, but wish them much success in their new venture.

We all have enjoyed many successes and awards together as The CWB. I am certain that we ALL will enjoy many more in the future. I am proud to have had them both as a part of The Craig Woolard Band. I thank them for the friendship, and for the roles they played in this band.   On a brighter note, this does not mean the band is breaking up, or that any other members of the band are leaving. This is an opportunity for the band to grow as well.   Greg, Sam, Keith, Andy, CJ, and Alan, are solid, I ASSURE YOU,.  A band is much like any other company that has personnel changes. And although the next person will not be the same as the one that left, he brings his own set of attributes and accolades. As we say good-bye to JK and Terry, we will soon be saying hello to our new members. Out of respect, we are keeping that close to us for now. But as soon as the time is right, we will let you all know.   Thank you for your calls and expressions of concern for the band. We know how much we are loved by the amount of concern and caring that has been exhibited, and we cannot thank you enough. Your faith in us has never dwindled, and we love YOU for that.   In closing,
The guys that ARE STAYING - SAM, ANDY, GREG, KEITH, ALAN and CJ, however, are VERY disturbed by the rumors concerning them, and asked me to set the record straight here - THEY ARE NOT LEAVING.

With the greatest affection and appreciation,

Craig and The Craig Woolard Band

Dynamite's in North Myrtle Beach is closing.  The bar will remain open for a week or so, but Kenneth has other plans for the building and property.

1/26/08 This is to let everyone know that effective immediately, I will be taking a leave of absence from the band. I have very serious family medical matters to attend to that require 24/7 total attention.  My heart & soul as well as a lot of money have been devoted to the cocoloco party band, but lately  all my thoughts have been elsewhere, even when on stage. The guys in the band & cocoloco fans deserve better than I am capable of giving right now. This being said, I also know the nature of the  music business requires new people to fill in, which in many cases will become permanent.  For now I will only be appearing when & if necessary & special appearances as time might allow. I wish only the best for the cocoloco party band family as well as the fans and venues we play.   Please continue to support The Cocoloco Party Band and as always yours truly, Doug Winstead

Shag Club donates to Hospice     By Andrew Moore/Richmond County Daily Journal     Thursday, December 13, 2007 11:07 PM EST

The Sandhills Shag Club made a donation to Richmond County Hospice on Thursday, presenting Executive Director Susan Eason with a check for $500 and placing donated items such as canned foods, toiletries, juice, sheets and bath cloths under the hospice Christmas tree.
“Each year at Christmas we try to help a needy family,” Shag Club President Joan Gibson said. “This year we decided to donate to Richmond County Hospice. Hospice has reached out to so many people in our community, so we wanted to reach out to them this Christmas.”  Gibson said the Shag Club meets the second Saturday of every month at Richmond Pines Country Club to dance and enjoy fellowship. Another charitable event they participate in is the Boogie and Bogie in the Pines at Pinehurst golf course. The club has held the event the last weekend in July since 1990, Gibson said. Proceeds from the event are contributed to the KT Foundation, which raises money to ease the burden with loved ones suffering from Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome.  Eason said she was thankful for the Shag Club’s contribution to hospice. “We appreciate them so much for thinking of us,” Eason said. “It means so much to us, our patients and their families.”  Contact Andrew Moore at 997-3111, ext. 40; e-mail

Faye Terry's dad just died, very suddenly. He'd been at the hospital visiting her brother, who is/was (don't know now) scheduled to have his leg amputated - diabetic complications. Her dad had a heart attack and died in the hospital parking lot.  The Shag club will be sending card and flowers. Will send info when I get it on visitation/funeral arrangements.  Please keep Faye & her family in your thoughts & prayers. They have had a LOT of ill health issues in addition to this sudden loss.
