The Lake Hickory Shag Club is back at home at the VFW, 1615 12^th Street Dr, where they meet to dance once a month. Cover charge for LHSC parties are $5 for members and $7 for guests. The club provides appetizers for the members and guests that usually number around 40 to 50 on a regular night. Drinks are available in the newly renovated bar where you can get a beer for $2 and a mixed drink for $3. The VFW kitchen is also open until 9 pm so the shaggers can order the house special - $10 - ribeye, baked potato, salad and rolls. The VFW is a non smoking facility, but smoking is allowed at the bar. Different DJ’s rotate playing the tunes for the dancers that take to the well worn 24’ x 17’ wooden floor.

Besides the monthly parties at the VFW, the Lake Hickory Shag Club also sponsors the annual Foothills Winter Boogie in February.
