With a new home at the
Sandbar Beach Club, the Johnston County Area Shag Club is rebuilding
their club along with the help of loyal members, new members, and
supporter members from other local clubs. The JCASC meets every 3rd
Sunday at 5:30 at The Sandbar Beach Club for a meeting, a shag step or
line dance step, some snacks and social dancing. Guests are welcome to
join the usual 25-30 members that attend. They
also come out during the
week to enjoy the beach bands that play on Wednesday nights at the
Sandbar and for the Thirsty Thursday shag nights . The Sandbar is a new,
non-smoking facility with a large 24’x 24’ wood dance floor positioned
in front of the bandstand. There is ample seating with good views of the
dance floor/ band area.
This club also jointly sponsors parties with
other area shag clubs such as the Shag-o-ween party in October.
This club enjoys dancing and is interested in sharing their new home with some new friends.
