The Gaston Shaggers meet on the 2^nd Saturday of each month at the Absher Flowers VFW, 3250 W. Franklin Blvd ( Hwy 74) in Gastonia. Spacious facility with a large commercial grade laminate floor with dance area approximately 24’ x 34’, seating area is raised above the dance area. Cover charge is $4 for members and $6 for guests. Cash bar is available and drinks and appetizers are provided by the shag club. Smoking is allowed in the facility. Different local shag DJ’s play for the monthly parties. There is plenty of parking, and seating for the usual crowd of 80 – 90. Shag lessons are offered at 7pm before the dance starts at 8pm and goes to midnight. Dancers are willing to show you any step you want to know during the evening. These club members are active in the community and happy to invite new members and guests to join them. You’ll also see many of these shag club members out at Lynn’s, Thorougbred Lounge, the Tavern Cellar and Havana Social Club. 

They have as much fun in the last hour as they do in the first hour!
