Frisky Mermaid Bar and Grill

On Sunday afternoons, shaggers can be found taking lessons and having fun to the music at the Frisky Mermaid Bar & Grill at the Historic Florida House Inn. It is located in the beautiful historic downtown area of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. Since it is a downtown tourist area, you may have to search for a place to park. The Bar is a small, intimate room in the Florida House Inn. The tables are moved off of the historic hardwood floors ( approx 18’ x 20’ area) for the dancers to shag to the sounds of the rotating FCSC DJ’s. Lessons are offered for free from 4-5 and then there is open dancing till 7pm.

There is no cover charge. A menu is available along with full bar. Smokers may go outside to the garden patio where you can also dine. This location usually has around 20 couples.
