In sunny, historic Jacksonville Florida, you’ll find the Florida Boppers,Inc every Friday night dancing at Club Savoy. They also have dances here the second Saturday of each month. Cost to join the party is usually $5 for members of the club and $8 for guests but the fun is priceless. Club Savoy, Arlington Rd in Jacksonville, is a very charming club with hand painted murals of Ocean Drive scenes on the walls in the lounge area. It has a large 34’ x 40’ wood dance floor, surrounded by tables on 3 sides and lined with mirrors and silhouettes of dancers on the walls. Members bring food for special parties. The members will be standing in line to get in before the doors open. The Florida Boppers, Inc. hit the floor dancing. You’ll have eaten and started dancing almost before the music has gotten started.

The dancers here are just as colorful as the club. To the same music, you will find dancers shagging, swinging, beach bopping, cha cha-ing or even doing a night club 2 step and all in a harmonious way. And don’t forget the line dances that are thrown in too. This is a rather large club with around 300 members. They have various teachers giving lessons in the different styles of dance including the Beach Bop taught by Betty & BC. This club also hosts the Annual Back to the Beach weekend party in May in Jacksonville.
