When And Where We Dance |
3rd Saturday @ Elks Lodge |
At the Elks Lodge, 3269 Gables Dr in Fayetteville, you’ll find the shag dance party going on with the Fayetteville Area Shag Association, or FASA. The party officially starts at 8pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month, but you might want to get there a little early for the best table and the first plate of homemade dinner. The club has a committee that organizes a full meal for each social that goes along with the theme for that month. Cost to attend is $3 for members, $5 for couples and $5 each for guests. It is a non smoking facility, except in the bar/lounge area. Beer is $2.50 and mixed drinks are $4.75. There is plenty of table seating near the 24’ x 27’ wooden parquet floor. This club, with around 210 members, will keep the dance floor full with usually about 100 in attendance. Those that love to line dance will have a good time too. Members of this club also visit their sister clubs in the vicinity on a regular basis.
The club is fortunate to have AC & Cathy Williams teach beginner, intermediate and advanced shag lessons at the Elks Lodge on Mondays.
The club goes to great lengths to put on a fun party and will make guests feel at home, especially with such tasty home cooked food and desserts.
