When And Where We Dance	2nd & 4th Fri. 8-11 pm @ Glen Oak Golf Club

UPDATE: As of March 2008 the new dance location will be Glen Oak Golf Club , Stokesland Ave Extension , Danville, VA 24541 ( directions turn off West Main Street onto Stokesland Ave. Follow to end of street, round curve at top of hill, clubhouse is on the right) This new location offers a large wooden dance floor and adjacent outdoor balcony overlooking the golf course.

Just across the southern Virginia state line, you’ll find the Danville Shag Club dancing at the Stratford Inn. This friendly club meets here every 2nd and 4th Friday from 8 until 11. Go through the lobby toward the restaurant and you will find the dance room on the left. It houses a 12 x 20 wooden dance floor with just enough room for the DJ and chairs around the dance floor but the overflow crosses over to the bar where there are tables and TV s. Beer is $2.50 and mixed drinks are around $5. Just next to the bar is a restaurant that serves food for any hungry shaggers until 9pm. The $3 cover charge helps the club bring in top DJ s to spin the tunes. A Friday night crowd will bring in about 50 members. Smoking is allowed in the dance and bar area. This club also sponsors a yearly IRS Dance - I’d rather shag than pay taxes- in( you guessed it ) April. They also visit nearby Steppin Out Shag Club at the Whistle Jacket in Eden on Wednesdays and Burlington Shag Club for “Meet the Area shag clubs” parties.

Good Friday night place to hear your favorite shag tunes and shag with local friends.
