Although the Colonial Shag Club is a relatively young club, it is a very active club. The club dances every week at Tribeca’s at the Omni Hotel from 6:30pm - 9:00pm with usually around 40 shaggers attending. Tribeca’s has a 20’ x 20’ wooden dance floor with plenty of seating around the floor or in the balcony area. Smoking is allowed in the lounge. There is no cover charge to attend the social. A cash bar and food menu are also available. The club DJ’s rotate playing the tunes for the club on Saturday nights.

The club also assists with the “Shagging on the Riverwalk” Beach music concert series held in Yorktown on Friday nights where they teach shag lessons and give demonstrations. The Colonial Shag Club is also very active with the Junior shaggers in their area. They sponsor a big annual event and support the other area shag clubs in the Virginia Beach, Outer Banks, Portsmouth areas.

Great group of shaggers that are very supportive of the shag and strive to introduce more people to the dance and the music.
