When And Where We Dance |

The Carolina Shaggers Shag Club
dances on the first Friday of each month at the Pine Crest Country Club in
Lumberton. It only costs $3.00 per person or $5.00 per couple to get into
the party from 8:30-midnight. The Country Club has a 21’ x 21’ dance floor, with
seating around it for around 70 people. Although there is no smoking in the
dance area, smoking is allowed in the separate bar area where you can purchase
mixed drinks, wine, beer and soft drinks. After the crowd arrives and has a
chance to socialize and dance, the buffet tables are opened up for a nice
selection of finger food. There are usually around 60-100 in attendance at the
dances and different DJ’s play the tunes for the monthly parties.
The Carolina Shaggers are a very active club,
participating in several city sponsored events and giving a shag exhibition at
the fair. They also sponsor a golf tournament to raise money for Hospice. Shag
lessons are taught by Brenda Prease and Hollis Britt through the Recreation Dept
on Mondays. Beginner lessons are taught at 7:00pm and Intermediate begins at
8:00pm.
The Carolina Shaggers shag club members welcome you immediately to their party and make you feel at home. This is always a great party with food, music, fellowship, shagging and line dancing.
