The Big Chill in Greenville is the Official home of the Carolina Shag Club. This lounge on Pelham Rd was formerly known as Dockers. The Carolina Shaggers meet here on Wednesdays.  Seven different DJ s rotate playing the music for the crowd. The lounge has a fairly spacious 15’ x 30’ wooden dance floor that is the focal point with bar stools around the dance floor and tables on either side. There is also a 16’ x 16’ plywood dance floor outside under the covered patio where you can also hear and dance to the music played by the DJ. Ceiling fans and portable fans keep the air moving on the outside dance floor. This is also where the smokers go as there is no smoking inside. Walter’s Home Cooking serves dinner till 9pm here.

Shag lessons are also offered on Wednesdays for beginners at 6:00 and for advanced at 7:30 by Chris and Carrie Hoskins, winners of 2006 National Non Pro Division.

Spacious dance floor, plenty of parking, potential to be a hot spot.

This club also sponsors an annual weekend event for the Junior Shaggers that raises donations for Camp Courage of the Greenville Children’s Hospital.
