Wind your way up through the mountains of North Carolina near the Blue Ridge Parkway, to the “Heart of the High Country” and there you will find the Boone Shag Club. The shag club meets every Tuesday from 7:30 - 10:00 pm at the Meadowbrook Inn in the quaint vacation village of Blowing Rock. This beautiful inn located on Main St. has a non- smoking “common area” with a L shaped 30’ x 30’ wood dance floor that the Boone Shag Club dances on weekly. This area also has a semi- circular seating area with windows overlooking the scenic courtyard complete with a babbling brook. In one corner of the dance floor is a fireplace for warming up on the cold winter nights. Next to the common area is a bar area where smoking is allowed. The bar also has a lounge area with TV’s and leather sofas for relaxing. Fine dining is available at Ciao Bello! The club hosts several themed parties throughout the year.  Boogie to Boone, the club's annual party, is held during June each year at Buffalo Campground on Highway 221S, Blowing Rock, NC. Come to  the mountains as you enjoy shag music far away from the beach!
