** Boogie on the Bay now meets at Roger's Sports Pub**

There is a great view of the Elizabeth River from the Cock Island Bar & Grill at the Holiday Inn in Portsmouth, VA. Boogie on the Bay Shag Club is fortunate enough to have this great view while listening to their favorite shag tunes and dancing the night away every Sunday night.  The shag club usually brings in anywhere from 30-60 on a Sunday night from 6pm-11pm. Monday nights, they offer shag lessons with as many as 60 beginners participating. Juniors are always welcome to come here also. The DJ - Don Ruth plays weekly and his wife, Marsha teaches the lessons along with Tom Edwards.

The Cock Island Bar & Grill has a black & white tile 15’ x 15’ dance floor, table seating, menu available, and smoking at the bar. There is no cover charge. Unfortunately for the Boogie on the Bay shag club of about 160 members, the Holiday Inn and it’s lounge will become victims of the wrecking ball in 2008, so the club is looking for a new home. They are a positive group that will find a new home. They also enjoy visiting with their neighboring sister shag clubs and even take group trips to out of town events. They once won for the most guests from an out of town shag club at the Fall Cyclone event held by Twisters Shag Club in Mooresville, NC.
