Located in the Garden City area of the Grand Strand on the SC coast, is The Marlin. Along with a generous menu of appetizers and meals available till the kitchen closes at 9pm, this restaurant/bar also offers shag lessons on Tuesday nights with shag pros Bill and Brenda Barber, and live beach entertainment on Friday and/or Saturday nights.

There is no cover charge to enjoy the entertainment, unless it is one of the more well known bands that may require a $5 cover charge. There is a 26’ x 26’ hardwood dance floor in front of the band stand, and plenty of tables for those that just wish to sit back, relax, have a drink and enjoy the music. You’ll find a packed house here even on a rainy weekend evening. The South Strand Shag Club also has several of their big parties at this location.

The Marlin is just off Hwy 17 and the main road (Atlantic Ave) into Garden City, in a small shopping mall, so you’ll need to keep your eyes open for it.

It offers a good combination of food, drinks, service and beach/shag music at a reasonable price.
