Bloozy’s Shag Club is not like your usual shag club. Located in Rockingham, NC, this club prefers the old R &B and upbeat Blues to Top 40 shag tunes. Formed with the help of Lynn”Redbone” King from WLWL Big Wave 770AM in January 2008, Bloozy’s already has 65 members and averages around 100 shaggers at their monthly parties at the VFW. Shaggers from other surrounding shag clubs join the members every 1^st Saturday of each month at the VFW from 8pm until… to dance to the tunes of various DJs that spin the tunes for the club. To get to the VFW, take Hwy 74 into Rockingham, turn next to the Check Inn Motel onto Caroline Rd, cross over the railroad tracks and then make a right onto Old River Rd where you will see the VFW. Members get in for $3 and guests for $5.

You’ll find plenty of seating available around the 20’x 20’ tile dance floor. The cash bar offers reasonable prices on drinks. Smoking is allowed throughout the VFW except around the dance floor area. In addition to the regular monthly party, they have also sponsored a Big Vinyl Party that brought in members and guests from many areas of the Carolinas. Guests are always welcomed by the Bloozy's members.
