Located near the Chattahoochee River, you’ll find the Bi-City Boppers. This club includes the areas of Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. The Bi-City Boppers meet monthly at the Fraternal Order of Police at 8827 Heiferhorn Way, Columbus, GA. Dances are free for members and $7 for guests, with appetizers, ice and set-ups provided. Drinks are BYOB. The non- smoking facility has a 47’ x 36’ dance floor. Rhythm & blues and beach music is provided by the DJ Gene Massey. The Bi-City Boppers has around 100 members that dance to the music using a variety of dance styles from bop, swing, and shag to ballroom. Many of the members also dance with Shag Plus and the Panama City Bop and Shag Club. In addition to dancing monthly at the FOP, they also dance at Mario’s on Wednesday nights informally with CD’s and on Friday’s from 7-10 at the Aqua Club with DJ Sheila Judah. In addition they also sponsor an annual New Year’s Party at Howard Johnson’s Ballroom, Columbus, GA and the Boppin on the Bay Mardi Gras Party in Panama City, FL.
