Take a drive down the beautiful, Spanish moss covered live oak lined, Victory Drive in historic Savannah and you will find the American Legion Post 36 in Thunderbolt, GA. This is where the Savannah Shag Club  dances on Friday nights from 7-12. The American Legion has a really nice, slick 30’ x 30’ wooden dance floor. There is no cover charge to join the fun. Drinks are available at the bar with beer $2.50 and soft drinks $1. Snacks were provided by the club for the dancers that come to hear the music played by the club DJ Pat McBride. This smoke free facility has plenty of seating inside and plenty of parking outside. About 60 dancers can be expected on Friday nights along with good ole’ Southern Hospitality.
